Monday

The talent show was hilarious! Everyone was so entertaining....no kidding(!), I guess we ARE at an acting school. After the show, we all went out to a dance club and chilled with some British folk--fun fun fun. British people think that Americans are bad dancers and Americans think the same about them, so it is kind of funny to see them interact at clubs.

I can't believe I am coming home so soon! I can't figure out how to read my plane ticket though, so I am going to go to the nearest STA and figure it out. OH, I learned some new funny English phrases! My teacher once said that someone's performance was "the bee's knees" (meaning good) and she told another student to "put some welly" into her performance (meaning gusto or something?). Anyway, that was random.

Alrighty, time for a Question and Answer session with a London director. Cheerio!

Darby,

Just caught up on your last two weeks. This program sounds amazing. Actually, you sound amazing--so smart and centered. (I think the word I'm looking for is mature.) Very cool that you get to study with the dean of Yale Drama (dean? head?). Cooler still that he imparts wisdom with every word.

Take care going home. Take every care possible.

Love,

Aunt Ann

We are now planning a backpacking trip in Sequoia for 8/11 pm thru 8/14 pm.

One night in a hotel in Sequoia and two nights in the wilderness high up the Alta trail near where we went in Sequoia last trip. Remember the bear we say!!!

Not to worry.....I'll bring plenty of beef stew.....

Much love, Dad

Darb....as you soon leave the rarified English literary and theatrical scene, I thought you'd enjoy this more earthy article about a naughty foul mouthed british parrot. This was in the local paper the other day.

................
A foul-mouthed parrot previously owned by a lorry driver has been banished from public areas in a British animal sanctuary after repeatedly embarrassing his keepers, they said.

Barney, a five-year-old Macaw, is now kept indoors at Warwickshire Animal Sanctuary in Nuneaton, central England, when outsiders visit after abusing dignitaries with swearword-littered insults.

"He's told a lady mayoress to f..(expletive) off and he told a lady vicar: 'And you can f... off as well'," sanctuary worker Stacey Clark said.

Nor did the forces of law and order escape, she added.

"Two policemen came to have a look at the centre. He told them: 'And you can f... off you two wankers'."

Clark said sanctuary workers believed Barney either picked up the phrases from television or was taught them by his previous owner, a lorry driver who emigrated to Spain.

"He does say 'Hello, big boy' and 'Thank you' when you give him a biscuit," she added.

"But it's mainly naughty words and always to the wrong people. We're trying to teach him not to swear. Macaws are very intelligent birds."
